About

One unforgettable day in late-2007, I picked up a Spanish book and flipped unhappily through its pages, saddened by my incapacity to understand its content. The Spanish words swam together in a mass of unrecognizable words; I could understand nothing.

On that day, I thought I would never be able to understand Spanish. It was just plain impossible.

I was wrong.

Hello, my name is Aja Trinidad. Learning foreign languages in your adult years is a very possible and attainable goal. In 2009, I graduated from Brooklyn College with a BA/BFA in Spanish and Creative Writing (double major.)

At the age of 22, without having ever before attempted to learn a foreign language to fluency, I began learning Spanish. Two short years later after that, I achieved a great level of fluency in the language, being able to read, write academic essays and short stories, and hold my own in conversations with Spanish-speakers (with very close to native-like pronunciation).

I’m currently taking undergraduate courses in Linguistics before starting my graduate studies. I’m also learning Arabic and Mandarin. I intend to become fluent in these two languages as well.

I created this website to provide knowledge, encouragement, and inspiration to those who are serious about their language learning.

Please feel free to visit my YouTube Channel for videos related to linguistics and language learning, and for any questions, email me via my contact form. Also, don’t hesitate to read my articles on linguistics and language learning/acquisition.
